La
Dirección Provincial de Cultura en Camagüey y el proyecto Circuito
para la Exhibición,
el Desarrollo y la
Investigación de los Nuevos Medios (CEDINM) convocan al 6to.
Festival Internacional de Videoarte de Camagüey, que tendrá lugar entre el 31
de marzo y el 4 de abril de 2015.
PARTICIPANTES:
Podrán
participar todos los artistas o colectivos de creación que así lo decidan.
OBRAS:
1.
Cada artista o colectivo de creadores
podrá presentar hasta 3 obras para su consideración por el Comité de Selección
del Festival.
2.
La temática será libre y no habrá
restricciones en cuanto a duración de las obras.
3.
En cuanto a la morfología, las obras
presentadas podrán inscribirse dentro de las múltiples variantes genéricas de
las videocreación, incluyendo la utilización de los nuevos medios.
4. La obra,
cuya Versión Original no sea en Español, deberá incluir subtítulos en dicho
idioma.
5.
Cada obra deberá incluir créditos de realización
con título, autor y año de producción.
ADMISIÓN y
COLEGIATURA:
1.
Para la admisión de las obras, cada
artista o colectivo de creación deberá enviar:
·
Un Formulario
de Inscripción por cada obra enviada, avalado por la firma del artista.
·
Currículo
profesional del artista o del colectivo de creación.
·
Dos Fotos
de cada una de las obras enviadas,
en formato digital (JPEG), a una resolución de 300 dpi.
·
La obra, cuya exhibición demande un
montaje diferente a la proyección convencional, deberá estar acompañada de un proyecto que incluya la siguiente
información: planos, fotos, videos
(etc.) y una detallada descripción/explicación del funcionamiento. (Cada
autor se hará responsable del equipamiento, traslado y montaje de su obra. Los
organizadores realizarán las coordinaciones necesarias, preverán los espacios
adecuados y brindarán el apoyo de personal especializado para dicho montaje.)
2.
Las obras serán recibidas hasta el 9 de enero de 2015.
3.
Los artistas podrán enviar sus obras,
por correo postal, -en soporte de disco- a la dirección consignada al final de
esta convocatoria, o enviar los datos necesarios para la descarga en Internet.
4.
Las obras deberán estar en formato mpg2
de DVD (NTSC) o, para una óptima resolución, en formato Quicktime compresión
H264.
5.
Para la admisión, se conformará un
Comité de Selección integrado por profesionales de las artes visuales cuyo
fallo final será inapelable.
6.
Las obras seleccionadas se darán a
conocer a través de las direcciones de correo electrónico consignadas por cada artista
en su formulario de inscripción.
7.
El pago de la cuota de inscripción será requisito indispensable para todos los artistas
asistentes al Festival. Los artistas cubanos deberán abonar 100 pesos (MN) y
los artistas internacionales, 100 (CUC). El pago de dicha colegiatura se
efectuará el día 31 de marzo de 2015, durante la acreditación oficial al Festival.
8.
Otros interesados en asistir al Festival
en calidad de participantes o acompañantes deberán abonar las cantidades
descritas en el punto anterior.
9.
El pago de la colegiatura ofrece derechos
a:

Todas las actividades del programa
diseñado por el Comité Organizador del Festival.
·
Módulo de acreditación.
·
Cocteles de bienvenida y clausura.
·
Recorrido por el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad.
·
Coffee breaks.
·
Certificado de participación.
·
Actividades colaterales y fiesta de
clausura.

PREMIOS:
1.
Se otorgará el Premio del Festival, y
tantas menciones como se estime conveniente.
2.
Se otorgarán, además, varios premios de
instituciones nacionales e internacionales, consistentes en tecnología,
financiamiento y promoción. Estos serán otorgados según los criterios del
jurado y las pautas establecidas por cada institución auspiciadora de los
premios.
INFORMACIÓN
GENERAL:
1.
El Comité Organizador del Festival se
reserva el derecho de invitar a aquellos artistas, curadores, especialistas y
críticos nacionales e internacionales que considere oportunos para la
realización del evento.
2.
Todas las obras en su registro digital
pasarán a formar parte de los archivos del Festival para su utilización en
presentaciones culturales, sin fines comerciales y como parte del evento en su
modalidad itinerante.
3.
Todos los videos que se envíen serán
considerados como copias de exhibición. Se recomienda en todos los casos
registrar los derechos de autor.

The
Provincial Culture Direction and the New Media Exhibition, Development, and
Research Circuit (in Spanish CEDINM),
call for the entries to the 6th International Videoart Festival of
Camagüey, to be held from March 31st to April 4th, 2015.
PARTICIPANTS:
All artists
or groups of artists
ARTWORKS:
6.
Every artist or group of artists may
send up to 3 artworks to be approved by the Selection Committee appointed for
the Festival.
7.
Topics are free and the length of film
is unlimited.
8.
The artworks –including those created
using the new media- in order to be considered by the Selection Committee must
be within the field of video creation.
9.
All artworks that are not in Spanish
must be sent with subtitles in Spanish.
10. All artworks
must have credits with the following data: title, author, and year of
production.

11. Each artist
or group of artists must send:

An Entry
Form for each artwork filled out and signed by the artist.
·
Artist’s or
group of artists’ CV
·
Two stills of each
artwork, in JPEG format, at 300 dpi resolution.
·
The artwork, whose exhibition may
require a different montage from the conventional one, must be sent along with
a Project containing the following
information: assembly diagram, photos, videos, etc; and a detailed description
of the piece’s functioning. (The author will be responsible for the equipment
needed, transportation, and montage of the artwork. The Organizing Committee
will make the proper arrangements, find the suitable spaces for the exhibition,
and provide the staff for the montage.)
12. The deadline
for the artworks reception will be January
9th, 2015.
13. The artists
must send the artworks by mail to the address provided at the end of the page;
or provide the proper information to download it from the internet.
14. The artworks
will be presented in the following formats: mpg2 DVD (NTSC) or in Quicktime
(H264) for a better resolution.
15. A Selection Committee involving experts
of the Visual Arts will select the works that will take part at the festival.
Their decision will be unappealable.
16. Artists will be notified of acceptance
via email using the contact information in the entry form.
17. The entry fee is compulsory for all
artists coming to the Festival. For national artists is 100 pesos (MN), and for
foreign participants, 100.00 CUC. The
entry fee will be paid on March 31st, 2015, at the Festival’s official
accreditation.
18. Other people willing to attend the
festival must pay the fees previously mentioned.
19. The entry fee allows participants:

To be part of every activity within the
Program of the Festival, conceived by the Organizing Committee.
·
To receive a program for the event,
information about all activities, Festival´s publicity, identification cards, a
multimedia CD of the event, etc.
·
Welcome and farewell cocktails.
·
City-tour of Camagüey´s Historical Site
Area.
·
Coffee breaks.
·
Certificate of participation.
·
To be part in the side events and the farewell party.

AWARDS:
3.
The
jury will grant the International Videoart Festival Award and as many honorable
mentions as considered.
4.
Different
national and international institutions will also award by giving financial and
technological support, and promotion. These awards will be given according to
the jury and sponsors’ criteria.
GENERAL
INFORMATION:

The Festival´s Organizing Committee
reserves the right to invite national and international artists, curators,
critics and experts that are considered of a special interest for the Festival.
5.
All artworks in a digital format will
become part of the Festival’s archive and will be used in non-profit cultural
presentations, and also as part of the itinerant version of the event.
6.
All videos will be considered exhibition
copies. It is recommended to obtain copyright in all cases.
